I was going through some of my old boy scout stuff and I found my old Swiss card. It was given to me as a present from my parents, and at the time, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I was maybe 11 or 12 years old and thought it was cool that i even had a wallet, but now I get get shove this thing in it! Awesome! I truly felt like I was James Bond/MacGyver/A-Team member. Mine was the original version that had a knife, scissors, pen, file w/ flathead screwdriver, toothpick, tweezers, and a ruler on the side. The newest model now sports the same features as well as a magnifying glass, mini screwdriver w/ 2 flathead and 2 philips, small pin and a LED light.
It isn’t the perfect multitool (the door over the scissors broke after dropping it, they have since improved on the design eliminating the door), but it could definitely get you out of a pinch if you needed to. This was probably my gateway into gadgets and the EDC (every day carry) world.
Editor’s Note: COOL STORY, BRO. Jokes aside, my first “EDC” was gifted to me as well. It’s a black Victorinox moneyclip with my initials engraved in the clip. I’ll make a post about some of my firsts sometime in the future too. :]
