Mostly self explanatory, but a few notes: the 50mm f/1.8 lens is an absolute no-brainer for the amateur photographer. It’s light, compact, produces stellar images, and is very cheap. I picked this one up at a flea market for $25 - even brand new they’re just north of $100. No excuse not to toss it in your kit. As for the fly reel, when I hit the road, if there’s even a slim chance that I’ll be able to get some time out on a river, I’ll pack my fly fishing gear. Nothing is better for settling the mind. Lamson-Waterworks is an Idaho-based company that makes beautifully crafted, high-performance reels.
