Sometimes you just need a larger blade to get things done. Kershaw, known for their great value production knives, has teamed up with renowned tactical knifemakers Emerson to create the CQC-4KXL. It's a large folding knife that boasts a sharp 3.9” blade made of hardy 8Cr13MoV steel. The longer blade deploys with help from Emerson’s unique “wave” system that opens the blade the instant you draw it from a pocket. It’s faster than fiddling around with buttons or thumb studs to get your knife ready to go as soon as you need it. To round out the knife, jimping on the blade and G10 scaling on the handle help ensure you keep your grip, while its deep guard and frame lock protect against cutting yourself during hard use. Most Emerson-designed knives cost a pretty penny, but the Kershaw CQC-4KXL is available at a much more accessible price. You can make this workhorse of a knife a part of your everyday carry at the link below.

For the price you pay this is a great knife. Emerson designed this knife well. The 'wave' feature for quicker opening is great, it fits in my hand nicely, and the texture to the scale keeps it from slipping.
Agreed...takes a edge and the clip is a bit shallow. Can't beat the price.

Too bad the Kershaw Emerson collaborations are pretty shitty on terms of quality... Not a fan of this collaboration....

One of my favorite knives ever. It has a silky smooth opening action and was razor sharp out of the box. It's got good steel for the price and sharpens easily. The G10 scale on the one side is grippy and the knife has almost perfect balance in your hand. The one feature of this knife that stands out is the Emerson Wave notch on the top of the blade. It snaps open the knife as you pull it out of your pocket. For the money (Amazon $27) it may well be the best value in EDC knives around.

I totally agree!

That clip looks like you'd have 1/3 of the knife sticking out of your pocket...

The reason is so that you can get a decent grip on the handle when you deploy it. I do wish the clip was larger and that it was all black. It looks like I have a shark's fin sticking out my pocket!
