Wingman: your best friend, your reliable partner, your go-to guy for all your needs. And since its debut in 2011, Leatherman's iconic multitool has become just that. The Wingman packs 14 essentials to solve all your everyday problems. Front and center are Leatherman's signature spring-action pliers, bolstered by two stainless steel handles on each side. A 420HC (high-carbon) stainless steel serrated blade tucks into one side, with a pair of scissors on the other. You also get a hefty complement of drivers and utility tools like a package/bottle opener and wire cutters. All 14 tools fold into a compact package under 10 inches and weighing 7 ounces or about 200 grams. It's not as long nor as heavy as its big brother the Wave (10”/241g) making it more suitable for EDC. A multitool shouldn't ever fail you, and the Wingman is designed not to. Make it your everyday carry companion at the link below.

I had a juice that lived in the gloveboxes of various cars. As my cars got better the need to use the juice decreased but it has got me out of many a hole. It was living in a car that got nicked late last year and, even though I knew it would't get much use, I bought another Leatherman and thought the wingman better value than a juice. It's a good tool, apart from the scissors. The scissors are rubbish.

It seems like Victorinox is the only company capable of making decent scissors on multitools. I've often wondered if it's possible to mod a pair of theirs into my Charge TTi.

JacketMan,

Make sure you have the scissors all the way out so they lock. I thought the same thing until I figured it out

Also, make sure to fold Leatherman scissors back in 'open' not 'closed' (father's error); otherwise it'll likely mess up the spring which requires disassembly to fix. (At least it did in my Charge TTi.)

Charge scissors are very different mechanically from the ones on the Wingman. The Wingman's fold while closed, instead of having to be rotated open 180 degrees.

Thank you, I hadn't realised that. They're still not great but are a lot better than "rubbish" now that I'm using them properly.
