Hey man, love this edc. I carry a UV-5R in my everyday backpack, may I ask why you carry one?

Sure man. Mainly I keep the radio in my edc to perform SWL, but I think it can also be useful in situations where the cellular network may not be available , for example in the case of natural disasters.
Also I can say that this radio is a great tool to bring along during multi-day mountain excursions.
