How did you get the F-402 tip to work?

I don't really remember, I've had the pen for a long time now, but if I'm not mistaken I think I modded the tip(the plastic liner in the tip) as you would to fit the Fisher space pen refill. But I do remember changing the spring inside from an old pen that I had... The pen clicks is a lot stronger
