SureFire E2D LED Defender Ultra

There are rugged flashlights and then there are SureFire lights. For nearly four decades the company has built some of the most bombproof tactical lights in the market. Made in the USA, their lights are simple and effective, with focused sets of features designed for precise performance.

The E2D LED Defender Ultra is part of their CR123A series of lights, making use of the battery's high capacity and voltage. The light comes with two outputs: 5 lumens for extended runtime and 500 lumens for maximum output. A rear clicky switch lets you select both options, with momentary On for quick activation on high output.

Its aerospace aluminum body comes hard anodized and sealed with o-rings and gaskets to provide maximum internal protection. At its head is a Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens that provides an even, general-purpose floody beam, protected by a crenelated strike bezel for self-defense or glass breaking.

If you're looking for a tried-and-true tactical light, pick up the E2D LED Defender Ultra at the link below. It doesn't get much tougher than this.

Only two output settings? So I can only choose between barely enough light and blinding? For $250, they should be offering at least 3 or 4 settings, with something close to 100 lumens.

I think you have to look at their core consumer and consider this is a "no-fail" lighting option for defensive use. Yes, many use it as their EDC, but the intended primary use is the blinding option, because Defender.
