Nope, this isn't a fancy lipstick from the future. What you're looking at is probably the most unique and portable lantern ever powered by a single AA battery. It's Nitecore's LA10, a mini camp lantern designed to give you 360 degrees of illumination for extended runtimes in all your excursions.
Nitecore knows how you've been using those portable AA/AAA lights tipped with a plastic cover for use as a diffuser, and brought the same concept to the LA10. To control the light's output you extend or retract its tip with a twist of its knurled lower section, not unlike a lipstick container. Use it retracted to focus its beam, or fully extend it and tailstand the light (or attach it to a metal surface with its magnetic tail) for full coverage.
Rotating its tailcap lets you adjust the brightness levels, which go from 10 lumens on Low for 23 hours all the way to a High of 135 lumens for 1 hour and 30 minutes. True to its lantern-like functionality, it also boasts an emergency beacon mode.
