Lost the maratac aaa while sledding, and couldn't justify spending that much again. The new flashlight was only $5, shipping included. Much better value. If it lasts through a pack of batteries I'll make it a keeper. Also added a small notebook, and trying to make a habit of using it daily.

The new flashlight burns through batteries pretty quick. The maratac seemed to last forever with minimal loss of brightness. This one starts very bright and immediately starts to fade off. Only two weeks from first battery, whereas I think the maratac would last at least twice as long. But still not bad for $5. It's survived one 4' drop onto pavement.
