Back to College Essentials

Like it or not, summer is coming to a close and a new school year is right around the corner. Whether you’re a freshman venturing out on your own for the first time or a senior looking forward to graduation, now is a good time to start thinking about some of the essentials you might need. But why battle your way through the crowds of moms at the mall when you can skip the long lines and order everything from eBay straight to your door. It is 2017 right?

Luckily, eBay has everything from desks to backpacks and 68% of their items ship for free, so you can save some of your money for other things like expensive textbooks and ramen. In this back to school college we’ve gathered some of the most useful items to add to your school kit so you’ll be ready for whatever college throws your way.

Nike SB RPM Backpack

Arguably the most important piece of your back to school is going to be your backpack. This lowkey all-black Nike SB RPM backpack will get the job done thanks to a durable water-resistant build and external sleeve that fits up to a 15” laptop. MOLLE-compatible webbing along the outside lets you add extra compatible pouches for an even more customizable carry. Throw in the sternum strap to keep the weight evenly distributed and you have a great everyday bag to take to class.

Moleskine Classic Notebook

When it comes to school, time management is just as important as anything else you do, so a good notebook is key. You’ll most likely already have dedicated notebooks for each subject, so this Moleskine Classic Notebook makes a great planner to keep track of deadlines, assignments, and the occasional doodle. The pages are unruled so you can get creative with whatever to-do list system works for you.

MiniPresso Portable Espresso Maker

Coffee, coffee, coffee. Whether it’s because of late nights in the library or early mornings on your way to class, a little coffee can go a long way. This MiniPresso Portable Espresso Maker fits easily in your backpack and can make a quality shot or two to get you going. It doesn’t use batteries or plug into an outlet, so you have to twist it a few times by hand to get your brew but the resulting brew will be worth it. Just add water.

Jaybird Freedom Bluetooth Earphones

Headphones are a must-have in college, and the Jaybird Freedoms serve multiple use cases. Use them on the way to class to get pumped for that exam, in your dorm to block out your roommate (super useful), or at the gym to keep the freshmen fifteen at bay. They’re Bluetooth so you just need to pair them to any smartphone and you’re good to go. You’ll get about 8 hours of constant playback and they come with an app to help you customize the sound to your liking.

With the Jaybird Freedoms, it's 4 hours with just the earphones. It's 8 if you bring the charging cradle, internal battery will charge them up again for the additional 4 hours. Otherwise they're great for everything.
