AceBeam UC15

As modern flashlight tech improves, so does the efficiency of the lights it comes in. What used to take a half-dozen C or D batteries for a paltry lumen output is now just the lowest output of a keychain light. And even then, keychain lights themselves have made leaps and bounds in performance. Lights like the AceBeam UC15 have broken past the point of compromise, giving you a compact keychain light that’s as powerful as it is compact and convenient.

Compared to the keychain lights of recent recent, the UC15’s main draw is its compatibility with both the common AAA battery and its lithium-ion rechargable counterpart, the 10440. Paired with its Cree XP-L2 LED, 2 AAA batteries give you a substantial maximum output of 250 lumens with a 14-hour maximum runtime on Low, while running on dual 10440s gives the UC15 an unprecedented 1000 lumens for a minute before dropping down to a more stable 200 lumens. That’s an output you only usually see from much larger and higher-voltage lights, but with the UC15, now you can just slip it into your pocket.

2 special LEDs also give the UC15 some unique outputs in the form of a red beam ideal for preserving night vision, as well as a UV beam for document and forensic needs. Everything’s packed into an anodized aluminum shell with IP54-rated resistance, and weighs 1.38 ounces without batteries. Output is controlled via a single switch on the UC15’s main face, which also doubles as a battery indicator. EDCing the light means either hanging it off its key loop or via an included beefy clip.

Keychain flashlights have come a long way, and if the UC15 is any indication, will only keep getting better. Pick one up in your choice of 4 colors at the Amazon link below.
