Die casting is not a manufacturing technique common in the flashlight industry, but leave it to Nitecore to make use of its benefits in their latest light, the EC4. Designed to be an outdoor searchlight, the EC4 has the strength and structural integrity to perform in the harshest conditions. It's light at 6.03 oz, but has better strength, rigidity, and heat transfer thanks to its completely casted aluminum construction. It's also strong in features, able to use 2 x 18650 or 4 x CR123A cells for 1000 lumens, throwing for 322 meters, and running for a maximum of 260 hours at 1 lumen. Nitecore hasn't slowed down the slightest bit with their lights this year, and if you need a unique light packed with features for your next adventure, their EC4 is up to the task.

I love Nitecore lights so much, they are really well made high quality products one by one. And it's adds to the coolness factor that they are a little bit on the tactical side (usually high candela throwers with strobe function). I think this flashlight here is a bit overshoot for a EDC light but I can imagine it as a perfect outdoorsman light with lot of utility, high range and good runtime.

I got mine a couple days ago b/c I wanted to try out a different brand than surefire or fenix. So far I'm happy with it. At 1000 lumens, it does get very hot pretty quick, but that's to be expected. This is my second, portable, thousand luman light and this one burns brighter with a higher quality if light. Halos are minimal and the light is very clean. Bye bye surefire...I've got a new brand.
