why cotton balls soaked in vaseline?

They light easier and burn longer than dry cotton balls. Great fire starter.

As Brad said, they are super cheap and excellent fire starters. They burn while wet for about 2-3 minutes.

Definitely! One reason I got this specific bag to hold my get home materials was because it had Velcro so I could display this Coghill patch!
