EDC is all about finding and carrying the right tool for the job, but one of the best aspects of it is finding one that also fits your personal style. Sometimes that means carrying a larger tool, and sometimes that means finding a colorful one. Since its debut in 2019, Leatherman’s FREE collection with its unique magnetic architecture pushed multi-tool design and technology forward. This year, the tools are back with fresh colorways to dial in the perfect multi-tool to fit your equally colorful EDC.

Leading the vibrant charge is the Leatherman FREE T4 model, which brings 12 functions to bear in a 3.6“, 4.3 oz package. The ”T“ designation stands for ”tool"," compared to the P(liers) and K(nife) also in the FREE line. Familiar tools from its big brother P-Series make an appearance, such as a 420HC knife, spring-action scissors, an assortment of drivers, openers, a heavy-duty file, and even a detachable pair of tweezers. All the tools deploy one-handed thanks to the FREE’s magnetic architecture and cam lock system, making them buttery smooth to open, locked in place while in use, and as easy to close up when you’re finished with your tasks. And when you’re ready to grab the T4 and go, its included and removable pocket clip gives it a secure spot in your EDC. The color collection launches 3 new colorways for the T4 in Crimson, Evergreen, and Navy, with the off-white Lunar and minty Arctic options available later in August.

Joining the T4 is the K2, the FREE collection’s robust knife option. If the T4 is a "best of" compact multi-tool, then think of the K2 as a fully-loaded folding knife. It features a full-size 3.3" locking 420HC stainless steel blade with a wharncliffe-style utility shape that’s great for daily cutting and slicing tasks. In the K2’s handles are 3 combination tools that offers 7 additional functions, including 3 sizes of drivers, package and bottle opening tools, and an awl for good measure. All the tools use the same one-handed opening magnetic system as the T4, allowing you to quickly deal with tasks at hand. And like any solid EDC knife, the K2 also comes with a removable clip for pocket duty. Similar to its smaller brother, the K2 comes in Crimson, Evergreen, and Navy colorways as part of the color collection.

Whether you need a compact, yet robust multi-tool or a knife that’s much more than a blade, it’s a bright idea to add the colorful new Leatherman FREE multi-tools to your EDC. Check them out at Leatherman’s site at the link below.
