In my 12 years in law enforcement, I've seen more than my fair share of what are referred to as "negligent discharges," or, as we referred to them, "accidental discharges," or "AD's." I've seen people cleaning a firearm, and a round discharges and passes through three offices and lodges in a refrigerator. I've seen people shoot themselves in the foot and leg while drawing on the range. All of which could have been prevented by adhering to these simple rules.
