When it comes to an EDC bag, it all comes down to the pockets. It's the right set of compartments that makes the difference between a travel bag and an alpine pack, for example. The new Errant Pack has such a versatile pocket layout and feature set that it pushes the boundaries of what an EDC bag can be, filling the roles of that one bag for your urban commute, work, gym, and photography. And with its go-anywhere durability and all-conditions materials, it's built tough enough for outdoor adventures and longhaul trips alike.
The Errant Pack's design draws inspiration from many different packs, distilling their best features into one clever design. It sports a stormflap top loader like you'd expect from a cycling bag or alpine pack, allowing for easy access as well as complete water protection. Unlike other toploaders that you need to roll or unbuckle, the Errant Pack's storm flap secures with magnetic Fidlock closures to get you in and out of the pack in a snap. Next, a water-resistant zippered main compartment opens the same way you'd find on clamshell luggage, making it easy to pack and identify your gear at a glance. You'll find plenty of organization in its nylon interior: mesh side pockets, a top dump pocket lined with a nylon/wool blend to protect against scratches on your glasses or phone screen, a full-on admin panel with gear loops, as well as a magnetically secured laptop and tablet section. Last but not least, a wet/dry shoe garage at the bottom of the bag keeps things separated for when you travel or work out.
The outside of the pack has its fair share of useful compartments too. The most notable is its side-loading quick access pocket, which can be especially useful for stashing frequently used items. The back panel conceals hidden storage for valuables when traveling, while expandable side pockets can stash anything from water bottles to tripods. The entire bag is riddled with features for multiple applications, from hydration hose compatibility for hiking to luggage loops for traveling. Premium materials like its DWR-treated, 500D Kodra exterior, durable Hypalon paneling, seatbelt webbing adjustors and straps, and magnetic latch locks throughout make the Errant Pack a quality option for all-around carry.
