EDC is all about having what you need when you need it, but unless you think hard about your carry, chances are you end up with more in your pockets than you’d like. That’s especially true when it comes to your wallet. Every card slot and compartment is another chance to carry more than you need, when in reality you can get away with much less. Gerber's new Barbill minimalist wallet aims to be aims to be both slim and practical with its multifunctional plate-and-band design, and its low price point means you'll have more cash left to carry.

Most slim wallets aren’t cheap, but Gerber knows a thing or two about making quality gear for less than the competition. The Barbill wallet features a stainless steel frame that’s lightweight enough for EDC at 1.7 ounces, yet durable enough to crack open a bottle after a long day with its built-in cap lifter. If you’re one of those people that opens your wallet to find a handful of receipts staring back at you, you won’t have that problem here. This wallet has a max capacity of 7 cards, which is enough to carry what you need without over-stuffing it. There’s also an elastic band for bills so you can still visit your favorite cash-only spot for lunch.

Whether you’re looking to slim down or toughen up your wallet carry, the Gerber Barbill gets the job done. If you want to consolidate your cards and cash (and one of your dozen bottle openers) into something more pocketable without breaking the bank, this might be the wallet for you. Looks decent, have to see it IRL to see if Gerber took the time to smooth and round all the edges of the steel. Fit and finish aren't one of their forte's on these budget items, and their QC has always been spotty at best.
