What is EDC? Everyday Carry: The Ultimate Beginner’s Guide
Six New Year's Resolutions for a Better Everyday Carry
Since 2009, I’ve been dedicated to sharing my passion for Everyday Carry. What started as a humble blog of personal finds from small EDC enthusiast forums on the internet grew into something more — a place to share and discuss EDCs. But even with all the support from amazing readers and submitters throughout the years, the blog format was simply holding the site back from its true potential. Last December, I got in contact with people who shared the same vision of the best and most powerful way to learn about everyday carry items and connect with like-minded EDCers. Now, after a year of hard work behind the scenes, the Everyday Carry team and I are excited to welcome you to the new Everyday Carry. We built this site from the ground up to bring you an entirely new way to experience EDC.
We made the experience of browsing through people’s EDCs from around the world even better, with user profiles showing profession and age to add context and character to each post. Items in an EDC now have visual markers to locate and identify products in a photo to make learning about new products easier. Hover over the image to bring them up, or hover over the item in the list to locate it on the photo. Feel free to try it out on my submission!
These products are catalogued into our all-new product database, which allows for powerful product search and discovery. Now, in addition to scrolling through photos to find the next item to add to your carry, you can peruse a database with sophisticated filters to find the tool that fits your needs. You can find out what the most frequently carried flashlight is, what others in your profession are carrying, or what wallet is on everyone’s wishlist. The best part is that items in the database are products you can trust, as like-minded members of the EDC community, your profession, or your hobby actually carry and use them every day!
By creating a profile with us here, you’ll be able to not only keep track of your different EDCs as they evolve over time, but you can also engage with other members of the community by Liking and commenting on their submissions as well. It’ll also allow you to participate in our brand new forum, your hangout for in-depth discussion for all things everyday carry.
There are many more features I haven’t mentioned and even more in the works, so please use and enjoy the site. If you come across anything on the site that’s broken, needs a correction, or is difficult to use, don’t hesitate to click the question mark in the bottom right of your screen and send us a message. Or, if you’re liking what you see and want to let us know, send us a message! We’d love to hear your feedback.
Thanks and Carry On,
Bernard Capulong
