It’s not every day that a custom-designed, high-performance knife can be had at an affordable price point. But Cold Steel’s collaboration with designer Andrew Demko delivers a big knife with big features—and no excuses. Andrew Demko has been a long-time collaborator with Cold Steel and is a competent knifemaker in his own right, but not everyone has thousands of dollars to spend on his custom knives. The AD-10, based on Demko’s massive 4-Max, has now been translated into a production folder that ticks all the boxes of a premium folder at a fraction of the size (and cost).

Deploying the AD-10’s blade via the dual thumbstubs reveals a versatile drop point with a sizable heft at 3.5”, built for for the toughest cutting tasks and is especially hardy in S35VN. The premium steels allows it to perform at its best, keep its edge, and also ensures ease of sharpening. The blade is also ground thin at the edge for razor sharpness, with a swedge along the spine for improved cutting and a sleeker-looking design.

With an overall length of 8.5”, this isn’t a knife for the faint of heart. Handling such a large blade means that the AD-10 needs robust handles to match, and the contoured, 3D-printed G10 scales provide a comfortable, full-sized grip that lets you handle the knife with ease. The AD-10 also comes with Cold Steel’s signature Tri-Ad lock that provides exceptional lockup, which comes in very handy for a knife built for hard use. Oversized pins and bolts add to its overbuilt look, but ease of use is still its priority. Good news for lefties, too, as the AD-10 is fully ambidextrous, and even comes with a left-handed clip to dial it in to your exact preferences and needs.

Cold Steel shows that the jump from a custom blade to a production knife doesn’t need to make compromises. The AD-10 is ready to step up to the challenge—grab one today at the link below.
