For any sci-fi movie buff, the name “Ripley” comes with the image of hi-tech space minimalism clashing intensely with incredible action, suspense, and sheer badassery. And taking one look at Nixon’s new Ripley watch, with its futuristic dual-display design, colors and accents to match Ripley’s outfits from the films ("Alien" green, anyone?), and built ultra-tough to withstand threats both terrestrial and extraterrestrial, it embodies both the look and feel of the iconic movies. The Ripley is a bold watch option that’s right at home in an ultra-modern office as well as outdoors in the great unknown.

With an impressive 47mm case size, the Ripley isn’t lacking for space, which gives it the perfect canvas to display its dual timekeeping functions. Out of the box, the watch features a 3-hand analog dial, featuring a hi-vis green accent on the Gunmetal colorway. At the push of one of its side buttons, a digital readout comes alive on the black background, offering a 12/24-hour display. Other modes available to the Ripley include an Adventure mode that displays elevation and temperature, as well as chronograph and alarm functions. Under its harderned mineral glass, a Japanese Miyota quartz movement reliably keeps the Ripley's heart beating.

Protecting such a large case is no small feat, which is why Nixon chose to use a custom-molded polycarbonate case paired with a stainless steel top plate to keep everything lightweight, but locked down. 4 custom molded pushers and crown take care of its operations, while a custom, injection-molded TPU band completes the Ripley’s sleek, sci-fi look. Whether on land, at sea (it comes with 100 meters of water resistance), or trapped aboard a spaceship with a hostile alien lifeform, the Ripley is designed to keep ticking.

For those looking to add something a little different to their rotation, high-tech in lieu of the same old field or dive designs, check out the Nixon Ripley at the link below.
