Trending: Boker Plus Subcom

Early in the days of EDC, there was limited choice if you wanted a compact knife that wouldn’t fall apart the first time you had some slightly heavier cutting to do. Fortunately, even in those times, there were gear gems to be found that seemed to be tailor-fit for EDC needs. The Boker Plus Subcom, today’s Miniature Monday feature, was a collaboration between Chad Los Banos and the German knife brand, and was ahead of its time with its features in spite of its size. The partially serrated EDC blade measures only 1.8” in length, but can still gets the job done thanks to hardworking AUS-8 steel. Its blade flicks open thanks to a stepped thumbstud, and secures with a framelock built into its lightweight FRN handles. Thanks to its incredibly thin stature (just 0.29″) and the inclusion of a clip on the rear, a lot of users even put the Subcom to use as a versatile money clip. To this day, few compact knives are able to punch above their weight as well as Subcom has over the years. Check it out and add one to your EDC at the link below.
