The Benchmade Mini Griptilian is a classic EDC staple, and its just-under-3-inch blade makes for a compact yet usable carry length that is still legal in most areas of the world. There are many combinations of colors and blades available, and this version, the all-black Mini Griptilian 557 with a serrated tanto blade, is the more utilitarian choice, fitting for this week’s Tanto Thursday. The original Griptilian was designed by renowned knifemaker Mel Pardue, who shaped and textured the handles to help the user with grip during hard use and in varying conditions. This smaller version is made for those with smaller hands, or for someone looking for a more compact or discreet carry.

The 2.91“ blade uses 154CM stainless steel for toughness and corrosion resistance, and the tanto-style shape gives piercing strength in addition to its cutting edge. The serrations on the latter half of the edge help with cutting through tough material like rope or paracord. Double-sided thumbstuds, the ambidextrous Axis lock, and a reversible pocket clip make this a usable knife from either hand orientation. Last but not least, the all-black colorway lets the knife stealthily integrate into the rest of your EDC. Check it out at the link below.
