Named for the Spanish word for "mosquito," this sub-3" framelock trends on our charts as a time-tested and affordable option for a small pocket folder. The ESEE Zancudo weighs in at 3.1 oz and 4" closed, and designed as a sturdy yet compact carry option. The original AUS8 steel gets upgraded to this variant’s D2 steel, making for a tough blade with good wear resistance and edge retention. The practical drop point design retains a thick tip, ensuring this blade pierces as well as it slices. Meanwhile, the 2.94" blade length keeps the Zancudo legal in most locales. Dual thumbstuds offer ambidextrous deployment of the blade, which pivots on a pair of phosphor bronze washers and Teflon spacers. A simple and sturdy clip fastens to the framelock side of the knife, and swappable for tip-up or tip-down carry. On the show side, a textured and chamfered polymer scale combines with the sculpted handle shape to provide a comfortable and secure grip. The ESEE Zancudo is a practical EDC folder with the design chops and heritage to hang with today’s latest and greatest. Check it out at the link below.
