KeySmart, maker of the popular key organizer with an integrated Tile tracking device, has come up with products that provide an extra level of safety and sanitation during our current pandemic situation. Case in point, their portable valet case with UV light disinfecting technology, the KeySmart CleanTray. In the same vein, the KeySmart CleanKey is their take on the now-popular no-touch door openers. Machined from premium 260 Brass alloy with a 70% Copper and 30% Zinc composition, it features antimicrobial properties and is easy to clean with disinfectant wipes or steel wool without danger of tarnishing or corroding the material. At 3.63" long, 1.35" wide, and 0.23" thick, its an easy addition to your keychain setup. Bringing along the CleanKey lets you interact with door levers, elevator and cash machine buttons, and even touchscreen interfaces—as long as you make full contact with the entire flat surface edge at the end of the tool. I bought this right after it was first announced. It is a designed to be cheap to manufacture, which reflects in a poor user experience: the edges are sharp (which hurts when you pull heavy doors). It is also wildly overpriced. I needed to use a Dremel to file the edges after a few times I hurt my finger when pulling (or pushing heavier doors).
