The Best Ledlenser Products to EDC this Fall

The upcoming fall season means shorter days and longer nights for those in the Northern Hemisphere. And there’s no better way to keep prepared than to ensure you have the proper equipment to handle the darker days. Ledlenser is a Portland, Oregon-based company that designs and produces award-winning lighting solutions for home, work, and industrial use. With an R&D center in Solingen, Germany, they continue to innovate and iterate on their products, driven by their mission to help EDCers “see the world in its true light.”  In this roundup, we feature four of their new outdoor lights to help light the way this coming season.

ML4 Warm Light

The new Ledlenser ML4 Warm Light brings soft and efficient lighting to the ultra-compact lantern format. At 3.82" tall with a 1.22" head diameter, this IP66-rated mini lamp lets you bring a warm and natural 2500K-3000K lighting atmosphere wherever you go. The soft white light uses the latest in micro prism technology, keeping it glare-free even when topped out at 300 lumens. It runs on a 3.7v 14500 rechargeable battery that you can charge via the included cable or the Ledlenser’s own Magnetic Charge System. It can, in a pinch, take an easy-to-find AA battery as backup when you’re out in the field. The carabiner snap hook lets you hang the ML4 Warm Light onto your backpack or other gear, while the Transportation Lock helps prevent accidental discharges, helping you preserve battery life.

MT10

The Ledlenser MT10 presents a strong option if you’re looking to take a lightweight, powerful, and versatile handheld torch for your outdoor adventures this fall. Being able to change your light’s focus on the fly can be valuable while out in the field in variable weather conditions, and the MT10’s Advanced Focus System lets you transition from a flood beam to a focused beam that can reach a maximum of 180 meters. It features built-in charging via a micro USB port, letting you top up the included 3.6V 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable battery with ease. The power button cycles through different output levels from 10 to 1,000 lumens, and also acts as a charging and battery status indicator. Ledlenser’s Smart Light Technology gives you a programmable interface that lets you choose from three different modes to find what suits your needs best. Last but not least, the included pocket clip and pouch help keep the MT10 nearby when you need it. At 5" long when defocused and weighing 5.5 ounces including the battery, the MT10 packs the power and functionality you need for an all-around flashlight for the coming season.

H7R Core

Compact yet powerful headlamps provide great utility when you need hands-free lighting for working outdoors. The H7R Core is the heart of Ledlenser’s latest headlamp line, and offers an adjustable light output and beam profile as its core feature. Twist the bezel to access the Advanced Focus System that lets you transition from a wide flood to a focused long-distance beam that can reach up to 820 feet. The head itself allows for 130 degrees of vertical tilt to help you keep that beam on target while in use.

The power button gives you access to three output modes, including a quick-burst Boost and Strobe. Boost gives you 1,000 lumens that can reach 250 feet, while High provides a workhorse 600 lumens that can run for 4 hours. Low is a 15-lumen task light that can give you up to 65 hours of use. The multifunctional Wheel Switch on the H7R Core allows for quick and convenient stepless dimming of the light’s output without having to fiddle with small buttons and remembering how many presses you need to get to a certain output level.

A three-strap headband unit keeps the H7R Core secure on your head. The included 4,800 mAh 3.7V Li-ion battery slips into the rear of the assembly, interfacing with the included magnetic charging cable. The whole package features Flex Sealing Technology that provides water and dust protection with an IP67 rating, making this a sturdy, take-anywhere, versatile headlamp that’s a great addition to your EDC.

P18R Work

The Work series of flashlights from Ledlenser are designed for professional use in tough environments and challenging conditions where their robust build and strong performance make a big difference. The P18R Work is the flagship of the series, pushing a 4,500-lumen max output and a 720 meter beam distance thanks to the brand’s X-Lens Technology.  That makes this 23.6-ounce, heavy duty thrower a solid choice for camping, search and rescue, as well as security work.

The IP54-rated aluminum chassis is bolstered by molded rubber bumpers that protect the head of the light and help improve grip. On the side, there’s a small white auxiliary light for useful diffused on-table or on-site illumination. On the inside, a 11.1V 3,000 mAh lithium-ion battery powers this high-output monster, and charges via Ledlenser’s convenient Magnetic Charge System.

Ledlenser’s patented Advanced Focus System lets you choose from precise spot or full flood lighting, even at distances of 2,300 feet. The rest of the light’s functions are controlled by Smart Light Technology, which allows you to choose from 4 pre-programmed modes or to personalize the interface and sequences to your liking. These two technologies turn the Ledlenser P18R Work flashlight from a simple high-output thrower to a feature-rich working flashlight, ready to perform regardless of conditions.
