Since 1854, the Timex watch company has been making value-packed, quality timepieces that brought the latest timekeeping technology within reach. Over the years, they’ve introduced many sturdy and practical timekeeping options that make them a natural fit for EDC. With the Q Timex Reissue Digital LCA, they’re looking to reignite that retro spark and deliver a functional and distinct timepiece that’s worth a spot on your wrist.

With this year’s Q Timex Reissue, the brand got back into the game of releasing classic designs from their catalog back into the market, and built with modern improvements. This is the case the Digital LCA, which was inspired by the first hybrid digital-analog watch launched by the brand way back in 1987. Bridging the gap between analog watchmaking and the rising popularity of digital technology, the goal of the first LCA (Liquid Crystal Analog) was to tell analog time in the most precise way possible.

This new version of the LCA features a clearer display and an updated stainless steel build. The 32.5mm case is 9mm thick and wears easily with a dress shirt or a casual ensemble. Alternating brushed and polished stainless steel sections make it easy to match with the rest of your kit, with a gold colorway as an alternate option. The case is water resistant to 30 meters, keeping it practical for daily use. A 20mm wide adjustable stainless steel bracelet completes the look.

And then there’s that display. A full analog watch face with hour, minute, and second hands dominates its upper left portion, creating a distinct retro vibe that gives this watch its character. Aside from digital time, there’s also day and date indicators onscreen, giving you everyday information at a glance. Side buttons and a familiar interface give you access to a countdown timer and chronograph functionality as well as an adjustable alarm. Of course, it wouldn’t be a modern Timex without their signature Indiglo lighting system keeping the display legible in the dark.

Retro looks, sturdy metal construction, and updated functionality make the Q Timex Reissue Digital LCA a worthy consideration for your daily driver, especially if you want a distinct conversation piece that elevates itself above the sea of square-faced digital watches.
