It's a big EDC market out there, and tons of awesome gear is released all the time. We made The Drop to help you discover the latest and greatest essentials worth a spot in your EDC.

Designed in partnership with Popl, a leading digital business card platform for teams and individuals, the Digital ME Key electronic business card eliminates the need to carry outdated paper business cards. Measuring only 2.76" x 0.59" x 0.4" and weighing less than 0.1 oz, the Popl x Keyport Digital Me Key slots easily into your Keyport or similar key organizer. You can share your digital contact information by tapping the Digital Me Key on any NFC-enabled phone. Alternatively, recipients can scan the QR code printed on it if their phone doesn’t have NFC.

The Digital ME Key has plenty of advantages over a traditional cardboard one. You can share clickable links and multimedia, specify precisely what information you would like to share, or even ask contacts to fill out forms with their information. If your contact details change, such as your address or phone number, you can simply update your profile instead of ordering a new batch of paper cards. And in this form factor that fits into something you already EDC, it’s an elegant modern upgrade for a traditional business convention.

What we like: You no longer have to worry about running out of business cards to give when you meet an important contact or having more reprinted when you change details. And since it fits nicely into your key organizer, it’s easy to take with you no matter where you are.

What to watch out for: There’s still something to be said about the tradition of exchanging business cards during a formal business meeting that makes it a more personal experience.

Final verdict: We’re all connected digitally in 2023, and there really isn’t any more space in our minimalist wallets for more business cards, so we all want this on our keychain instead.
