That's what Zodiac has somehow managed to achieve with their latest Super Sea Wolf GMT. The brand may not be as familiar in the pantheon of dive watches, but it's definitely got the history to back it up—over 141 years, to be exact, with the first Sea Wolf originating in 1953, a stacked year that also saw the release of horological titans like the Rolex Submariner And Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.
But this release isn't just about a dive watch, it's about one that also packs a GMT complication, quite an interesting combination that seems to be gaining some traction of late. The Super Sea Wolf GMT is a modern rendition of Zodiac's original 1966 Aerospace GMT model, and inside beats a Swiss C125 automatic three-hand movement with 25 jewels and a 42-hour power reserve, sealed in a 42mm 316L stainless steel case with sapphire glass and a formidable 300-meter rated resistance.
There are more than a few nice touches on the watch, including an accent orange GMT hand, a two-tone inner GMT dial, Super-LumiNova on the indices, hands, and bezel, and a reversed crown at 9 o'clock. The all-black design makes it an easy wear, and the rubber strap makes it a comfortable one for everyday adventures.
What we like: It's a supercharged, Swiss-made diver that also comes with an automatic GMT movement. This thing is literally built for a globetrotting adventure.
