It's a big EDC market out there, and tons of awesome gear is released all the time. We made The Drop to help you discover the latest and greatest essentials worth a spot in your EDC.

We’ve seen the James Brand Mehlville Carabiner in aluminum, titanium, brass, and stainless steel. But thanks to a special collaboration with outdoor specialists Huckberry, the popular Mehlville Carabiner is now available in copper as an exclusive colorway.

Crafted from a single solid block of copper, The James Brand's Mehlville Carabiner is lightweight without compromising strength and durability. The smooth action of the gate makes it easy to open and close when needed, giving you quick access to your EDC. It features two compartments allowing you to separate your keys from other small EDC items or to comfortably attach one end to your pants or bag without impeding access to your essentials. And like any good carabiner, the Mehlville also comes with a bottle opener, for times when you need to crack open a cold one to relax.

What we like: The exclusive copper colorway is a great way to enjoy the functionality of a carabiner while adding a subtle pop of color to your kit.

What to watch out for: Copper doesn’t have the same tensile strength as steel, which makes it more prone to bending or breaking under pressure. It also has a distinct money smell, and we’ll chalk that one up to personal preference.

Final verdict: A good carabiner is essential to any EDC, and The James Brand Mehlville Carabiner is a unique and solid proposition.
