The contents of my backpack when joining a ship (sans the licences and certificates I have to carry). When joining a ship for months at a time I have a lot more of course, but this is the gear I like to have handy at any time. This is my first Mac and I'm annoyed at myself for not "converting" sooner. It is to laptops as the iPhone is to phones - a revelation in my opinion. It works superbly. The speed is more than I would ever really need; I;m very happy with it.

I have a deck knife that I keep on my ship too as well as a Victorinox I keep in my cabin. The leatherman is a great bridge knife with the tools it has.
