Settling on a daily wristwatch often comes with compromises. It's difficult to find the right balance of style, function, size, and price. Despite all the options out there, Redux & Co. realized this ideal watch didn't exist — and out of necessity, the COURG was born. This titanium diver/pilot hybrid watch was carefully crafted with the most stringent design criteria to result in a timepiece that's not just a stylish accessory, but also a purpose-driven instrument capable of any mission, every day. Style-wise, it offers what so many watches these days don't: a variety of unique, nuanced faces inspired by iconic designs in watch history at a very versatile and wearable 39mm size. It boasts the right features and materials where it counts — an automatic movement, a hardy sapphire crystal, a uni-directional rotating bezel, luminous hands and markers, a titanium case, and much more. Perhaps most impressive of all is how affordable a watch this featured-packed is. Head over to their Kickstarter campaign quickly and secure a COURG with your face variant of choice, as pledges are flying fast.

If it wasn't for this article, I wouldn't have gotten this great watch at such a killer price! Good lookin out. Thanks

Nice! Which variant did you go for? I'm curious to see what other EDCers like the most.
Chris ·
I like the one with the strap in the pic, which I believe is variant 1. Really like this watch but had been planning on getting one of the Seiko 5 Sports watches. Anyone know how easy the strap is to change on those? The ease of being able to easily trade out Nato straps on this, combined with its look, is why I'm interested. Just a bit more than I wanted to spend.

Chris, all variants have the strap. The difference will be only because of the face you choose. I also pledged for one and I think the price is okay. Not a mega deal despite of the movement but if the build quality is high then I hope to get what I pay for :)

Where did you purchase your watch?

Definitely a hybrid design in terms of hands and dial variations. Although, I do think some dial and hand combinations look slightly out of place, but that's because I'm used to seeing them on other watches that concentrated on pilot hands and dials, or bauhaus hands and dials, etc. Either way, there is a lot to like about these watches, and the 39mm case diameter is truly classic. I think these will do very well indeed. Finally, a KickStarted watch brand that I actually like.

How much are the watches?

They started at $199 but sold out quickly, they will retail for $400 which is still pretty affordable considering the case and caseback are made from titanium. Right now there's a few hundred left at the $259 price point.
