The Benchmade North Fork is a handsome folding knife designed for hunting, but it has all the right features to make for a great everyday carry blade as well. Its most noticeable trait is the Dymondwood scales. The North Fork’s handle is made from wood that’s been vacuum-impregnated with resin to increase durability. With the added strength from this treatment, there’s no need to worry about the wood chipping, drying out, or getting wet. Its satin-finished drop point blade uses S30V steel and features two jimped sections — one by the thumb grip and one closer to the tip — for ultimate blade control. The North Fork offers fully ambidextrous use options thanks to the AXIS lock mechanism, dual thumb stud deployment, and reversible pocket clip. Built on heavy-duty stainless steel liners, this is a knife to carry into the woods or around town for years to come.

I own this knife and can attest to its quality build and great performance. The AXIS lock makes it easy to deploy and close one handed and its classic look makes it a less intimidating knife to carry if I have to use it out in public. I like its solid performance and the fact that it wont frighten people if I need to use it.

The wooden handle looks great. What's the purpose of "jimping"?

It's a serrated edge that allows better grip on the blade. Many hunting knives have this as blood is very slippery, and your hand can slip onto the blade while gutting or skinning an animal.

I own this knife and I can say it's absolutely stunning. Great addition to my EDC.

Hmm. I have never seen jimping that close to the tip, but now that I see it I can definitely see the benefit!

The tip jimping is there for your fore finger. It provides excellent control of just the blade tip when caping out or skinning an animal.
