Since picking up the guitar 10 years ago I've always carried a pick or 2 in my wallet, a habit which I picked up from my teacher. These days I'm using primarily dunlop picks, namely the tortex sharp and ultex sharp. Carrying picks of 2 different materials allow me to have more variety and the ability to match the right pick to get the sound I want. The sharp points on both help with articulation in the more aggressive styles of punk and metal that I favour.
