It's a big EDC market out there, and tons of awesome gear is released all the time. We made The Drop to help you discover the latest and greatest essentials worth a spot in your EDC.

Arc'teryx is known for making some of the best waterproof coats and jackets you can wear, but they also leverage their mastery of technical fabrics with sleek and minimalist bags and packs for everyday carry. Take their new Granville 25 backpack, which features a lightweight yet durable N400r AC2 nylon ripstop fabric crafted into a weathertight shell that will keep your gear safe from rain and moisture wherever you find yourself while wearing the bag.

Many everyday carry bags feature a plethora of colors, lots of buckles, zippers, and sometimes even PALS/MOLLE webbing all over the pack's exterior. Arc'teryx's minimalist design language forgoes all that, as seen with this pack. In place of the noise, you get a sleek and uniform exterior shell marked only by the top flap opening and accented by the waterproof zippers at the pack's spine.

With 25 liters of capacity, the Granville 25 has enough room for a day's worth of tech essentials and other gear you want to avoid carrying in your pockets. A dedicated laptop sleeve and internal dividers help you organize your backpack for easy access when you need it. And when you have the bag fully packed with your equipment, the padded, vented shoulder straps and the AeroForm back panel offer lots of comfort for long treks to your next destination.

What we like: The clean and minimalist look the Arc'teryx Granville 25 offers makes it different from most EDC bags. The technical fabric construction makes this a lightweight bag at just 30.5 ounces fully unloaded. It also makes this one of the most waterproof bags you can EDC.

What to watch out for: The Granville 25's minimalist look may only work for some, and the clean exterior of the bag also means that you do not get side pockets for water bottles, making it difficult if you EDC one to stay hydrated.

Final verdict: Look no further if you're looking for a sleek new minimalist backpack to keep your gear safe from the rain (or late spring snow).
