The Drop: Wuben Lightok X2 Easy Carry Light

It’s a big EDC market out there, and tons of awesome gear is released all the time. We made The Drop to help you discover the latest and greatest essentials worth a spot in your EDC.

Let’s face it, as EDC enthusiasts, we tend to carry a lot of gear around with us. That’s one of the reasons we value pocketable, portable, and minimalist products that don’t compromise on performance, such as a compact knife, a slim wallet, or a small key organizer. Flashlights have always been a little tricky in this regard because size usually correlates to performance. The larger the flashlight, the stronger the beam, and vice versa. The Lightok X2 Easy Carry Light from Wuben is designed to change all that, carving out a serious flashlight space with its specs and design, much like the X0 that came before it.

This isn’t your usual triple LED flashlight. At 3.35” long and weighing 4.06 oz, the Lightok X2 Easy Carry Light is compact enough to fit in your palm or pocket easily while utilizing a side-by-side 3 x OSRAM P9 or 3 x Samsung LH351D LED configuration that lets it have a unique rectangular (and much more pocketable) form factor. With a maximum rated output of 2,500 lumens throwing out to 146 meters (479 ft) on the OSRAM P9 model, the Lightok X2 carries more than enough power to improve your surroundings’ visibility when you need light in a pinch.

Like its emitters, the X2’s shape allows it to fit in 2 x 2,000mAh 14500 batteries, giving it up to 80 hours of operation on its 5-lumen Low mode. And with its USB-C fast-charging feature, a full charge is possible in about 3 hours. With another clever design, its lanyard hides a USB-C cable, so you don’t need to carry a separate one around. And should the X2 accidentally fly out of your hands, its anodized aluminum or titanium construction, micro-arc oxidation ceramic coating, and IP68-rated resistance give added peace of mind no matter where it lands.

What we like: The Lightok X2 is a unique new triple that bucks the trend while offering power, convenience, and premium collectibility.

What to watch out for: The titanium options cost upwards of $300, nearly double the price of other variants with similar performance. It’s also good to note the Samsung LH351D versions offer less output than the base black aluminum model with OSRAM P9s.

Final verdict: We love a good side-by-side LED flashlight, and this is our favorite one yet.
