This past May was a good month for an impressive array of knives, versatile multi-tools, and an extra-powerful flashlight. Let’s see what you all were checking out this month.
10. Olight Seeker 2 Pro
First on the list is the latest and greatest flashlight from EDC flashlight favorite Olight. The new Olight Seeker 2 Pro leverages all-new battery technology to deliver 3200 lumens and a slew of advanced features all in a pocket-sized form factor. It’s Olight’s first light to boast a 21700 battery, an upgrade to the usual 18650 battery in its class that lets the Seeker 2 Pro achieve this next-level performance. Once the light’s on, a cluster of three cool white Cree XP-L HD LEDs and total internal reflection optics at the head deliver a smooth, even beam. At the other end, you’ll find a knurled tailcap with a flat, magnetic base for tailstanding and mounting on metal surfaces, as well as an integrated lanyard attachment point for easy retrieval.
9. Gerber Fastball S30V
The 9th most popular item last month is Gerber’s vision for the perfect EDC knife. The made in the USA Fastball boasts S30V steel, hits that 3” sweetspot in length, and should handle general EDC tasks with its modified wharncliffe geometry. It’s a manual flipper deployment with a liner lock mechanism for quick, no-nonsense performance. The 4” long aluminum handle looks sleek and keeps things light at 2.7 oz, while a 3-way deep pocket clip makes it easy to EDC.
8. Enzo Birk 75
Under its understated exterior, the Finnish Enzo Birk 75 comes with solid features from blade to Curly Birch handles. Sporting a workhorse D2 steel, the 3” edge comes with a unique Scandi[navian] grind, offering a shape with plenty of belly while being easy to sharpen. Blade deployment comes via dual thumb studs, while a liner lock keeps thing secure while in use. 7th on the list is SOG’s lightweight PowerAccess multi-tool. At 4.1” closed and weighing only 5.9 ounces, it’s a compact option built for EDC, while still offering plenty of utility by way of 18 functions and a magnetic bit holder to handle even more tasks. The PowerAccess‘s main tool at its apex is its compound leverage pliers, allowing more powerful movements with less effort. Supplementing the pliers within the handles are a variety of cutters, drivers, openers, scrapers, and pokers, all able to securely lock during use. Stone-washed stainless steel completes the multi-tool’s construction, giving it a toughness worthy of everyday carry.
6. Ruike P801
If you’ve been looking for a sleek slicer to complete your silver-themed carry, then the Ruike P801 has what you need and so much more. Last month’s 6th most popular item is made almost completely from stainless steel, with its 3.39” blade made from Sandvik 14C28N steel known for its edge sharpness and stability, and its slim handles made from 3Cr14N stonewashed steel that features a very high standard of toughness and resistance. 5. Zebra F-701
Last month’s 5th placer needs no introduction. Zebra’s EDC staple F-701 is an all-metal clicky pen with a knurled grip, rigid steel body, and strong pocket clip. It measures 4.25” long, 1.25” wide and about 0.6” thick, weighing in at 7.6 ounces. Compared to say, a Wave, it’s a bit longer but overall proportionally balanced and significantly lighter. Despite the lighter weight, the FREE P2 boasts 19 tools total, all well-curated to handle most everyday tasks. As its name suggests, last month’s 3rd most popular item is a knife that isn’t afraid to get dirty. With plenty of options for color and design, you won’t be starve for choice as well for the perfect multi-tool to add to your EDC.
1. ASP Carbon Fiber Investigator Knife
Last month’s most popular item is an uncommon multi-tool from a brand best known for their law-enforcement and self-defense gear. The ASP Carbon Fiber Investigator Knife features useful EDC functions including a pair of scissors, two blades, a file/driver, and a handcuff key packed into a pocketable package with a carbon fiber finish. A split ring with detachable clip keeps the Investigator handy for everyday tasks.
