10. CRKT Pilar
Kicking off last July’s list is this popular and affordable performer from CRKT and Jesper Voxnaes. As part of their newest collaboration, the Pilar is a compact EDC folder that’s packed with features and design you’d expect in a much more expensive knife. Vox’s minimal, nordic-inspired designs are both functional and tough. Sandwiched between two stainless steel handles is a 2.4” blade made from 8Cr13MoV steel. The small blade is easy to control, and the unique bevels add both strength and visual appeal. Since the knife is on the smaller side, there’s a generous index finger choil between the blade and handles ensure you can get a secure grip. The Pilar’s blade stays in place with an integrated frame lock system that has an interesting engraved pattern where the steel is thinned out.
9. SOG Sync II
With the novel form factor on the new SOG Sync II multi-tool, you can wear it as a belt buckle or clipped to your bag for easy transport, leaving your pockets a little lighter. The first thing you’ll notice about the SOG Sync II is its shape. At only 3.1” in length when closed, it doesn’t immediately look like other multi-tools. But unfolding it reveals a more familiar form factor perfect for one-handed use. You’ll get a pair of pliers, wirecutter, crimper, and ruler, and that’s before you take into account the tools that pull out from the handle. You’ll also get a small blade, scissors, and a flathead screwdriver to name a few.
8. Nite Ize DoohicKey
An oldie but a goodie, the DoohicKey by Nite Ize is clearly still a popular tool, and is last month’s 8th most popular item. Its small size makes it perfect for keychains and because there’s no blade it’s travel-friendly too. You’ll be able to bring a bottle opener, box cutter, and flathead screwdriver with you wherever you go and thanks to its carabiner clip design carrying it is a breeze.
7. Zebra F-701
One of last year’s most popular EDC items is still pushing the charts today. Zebra’s F-701 is a super affordable ballpoint pen that’s made from metal. The price to performance ratio is one of the best out there, For under six bucks, you get a steel pen with a click mechanism and knurled grip. Since the pen is made from steel, it can ride along with the rest of your EDC gear without being any worse for wear. It’s the perfect gateway into machined pens as a whole, while holding its own as an everyday staple.
6. Benchmade 537 Bailout
Similar to the super popular Benchmade Bugout, the Bailout 537 sports a slim silhouette that’s low-profile enough for a tactical EDC. It tacks on a few grams over the ultralight Bugout, measuring at 0.4” thick, 4.7” closed, and 2.05 oz total, but for good reason. The added length offers a better grip for hard use while remaining fairly pocket friendly and lightweight. Other changes to the handle include a flare guard for a more secure grip during hard use and piercing tasks. Its lightweight Grivory handles now come in a discreet, tactical black as opposed to the Bugout’s high-vis bright blue, and still offer ample grip with its diamond-shaped texturing. Rounding out the handle is a rear pommel for emergency applications and added carry configurations, made from aluminum for its strength-to-weight ratio.

Last month’s 5th most popular item serves as the perfect vessel for when you’re commuting from work to the gym. As its name implies, the Recycled Firefighter Sergeant is made of recycled vinyl tarp that a fire hose is made from, so you know it’s durable enough for EDC. Because the material is repurposed, each wallet comes with unique scuffs and marking so you’re getting a one-of-a-kind product. You can carry up to eight cards and the nylon strap fits cash you fold into thirds.
3. Ti2 Design Bond-Vox Halo
Another Vox collaboration hits the chart at the 3rd spot, this time teaming up with Hawaiian metal masters Ti2 Design. The HALO carabiner is made from grade 5 titanium for fantastic strength-to-weight ratio. Its titanium gate comes anodized to match its body’s material, and can be ambidextrously opened for ease of attachment. The HALO‘s full-sized outer frame comes with generous jimping for an improved grip. This is especially helpful when using its bottom pry edge, which comes hollow-milled for strength in cutting, chiseling, and similar tasks. It also has two keychain attachment points to accommodate all your carry configurations.

The penultimate most popular item from July is a wallet from travel specialists BOND. From robust quality to thoughtful organization as well as a touch of security, their Travel Wallet (in a new multicam colorway) fits the bill(s) of the frequent flyer. The Travel Wallet‘s exterior comes in a black nylon exterior that’s both water- and abrasion-resistant, able to rough it up along with you while staying light. 1. Medford Micro Praetorian
Last month’s most popular item is one of the tankiest EDC knives on the market. The Medford Micro Praetorian brings a completely overbuilt design quality to a manageable EDC sized folding form factor. This little big knife features a 2.8″ long, D2 tool steel blade, with a 0.19″ thickness and a drop point geometry. While it might be on the shorter side of the knife spectrum it’s still built like a tank with beefy proportions, measuring 1.25″ wide and 0.5″ total thickness. Closed, it’s just under 5″ long. Aggressive jimping on the spine of the blade and handle, combined with a G10 scale on one side, give plenty of grip on the knife. Elongated thumb “nicks” in the blade allow for ambidextrous deployment, securing into a beefy liner lock. Finally, an emergency glass breaker pommel and a straight pocket clip round out the details of this made in the USA knife.
