While having a good general-purpose light in your EDC is enough for most tasks, people like security guards, outdoorsmen, and emergency teams can often need a lot more from their daily light, but still want something they can hold comfortably or carry in a bag. It’s a unique but necessary niche filled by EDC lights which often pair tremendous output in a compact package that earns them the “soda can” moniker. And AceBeam’s latest searchlight in this category does not disappoint. The X50 is 40,000 lumens you can still hold in your hand, with all the conveniences modern lights can muster.
The X50 gets its power from 8 x CREE XHP70.2 LEDs fueled by a built-in 4250mAh battery pack that’s rechargeable via USB-C, which can top off the light with 1.8 hours of charging. The charging port also doubles as a “discharge port,” which lets you use the X50 as a power bank in case your devices need some juice themselves. The X50 also features an intelligent temperature controller that will automatically step down the lumens if things get too hot, preventing the light from overheating.
In addition to the 40,000-lumen Turbo that can throw out to 800 meters [in the 6500K Cool White Option] with a massive flood beam pattern, you also have access to a 26,000-lumen High, three Medium modes, and a 650-lumen Low. For special modes you get an Ultra-Low a bit on the higher end at 230 lumens but can run it for 24 hours, and a 14,000-lumen Strobe. All these modes are accessible through a single stainless steel side switch, which also comes with a physical safety lock to prevent accidental activation.
For its construction, the X50 features a 6061-T6 aluminum alloy body with a premium type HAIII hard-anodized anti-abrasive finish, making the light is scratch-, chip-, and abrasion-resistant. It’s IP66-rated for both water and impact resistance, so it can take its share of rough and tumble and inclement weather.
Pick one up at the link below in two options: 6500K for the full 40,000-lumen output potential, or 5000K Neutral White for a more eye-pleasing tint and better color recognition.
