Zebra PM-701 Stainless Steel Permanent Marker

For something called a “permanent marker,” the run-of-the-mill marker you keep in your junk drawer doesn’t seem to last very long. Sure, its ink won’t wipe away, but it can easily dry out over time and its plastic body ends up breaking before you know it. It’s all too common with disposable pens as well, but EDCers have found an affordable solution in full-metal pens like the Zebra F701. Now that crowd-favorite pen gets a matching marker counterpart in the Zebra PM-701. Between its stainless steel body and its refillable ink insert that better resists drying out, it’s built to last til the job’s all done.

The main draw of the PM-701 is its stainless steel body. It adds balance and heft for a more comfortable writing experience while also drastically improving its durability. In a pinch, it can be used for poking and prodding as well. The cap is also made of stainless steel, including the pocket clip, so it’s much more secure in your pocket and harder to break the cap. The cap posts onto the back end of the marker too, keeping it balanced in hand and less likely to get lost when you’re hard at work. Even if the cap does go missing for a while, the ink refill can last up to 5 days with the cap off before drying out. The PM-701 can be refilled when it eventually does run out of ink with one of four colors: black, red, green, or blue. Each refill features a fine 1mm bullet point tip that can write fine or broad strokes depending on the amount of pressure you apply.

If you use a permanent marker for work or around the house often, you’ll appreciate this affordable upgrade. You can pick one up from Amazon for around just $8 at the link below.
