When the masters of multi-tools at Leatherman released the original Tread, they designed it to tackle most everyday tasks in a wearable bracelet form-factor that could both free up pocket space and travel with you. But unlike the rest of their tool lineup, the Tread originally only came in one style and size which wasn’t the best fir for some EDCers. That’s why Leatherman introduced the Tread LT bracelet. This new, lower-profile design slims things down a bit while still giving you access to over two dozen functions right from your wrist.
The original Tread was a solid tool in its own right but if you want that same functionality with less bulk, this EDC wearable might be for you. While the Tread LT opts for TSA-compliance instead of offering a blade in its toolset, it still offers 29 other useful tools you can use in a pinch. There are 19 links in total with each one contributing a few different tools to the bracelet. You’ll get everything from a SIM card tool (useful for frequent flyers), to different sized wrenches, and even a carbide glass breaker to name a few. Should you find yourself using some tools more than others you can always remove the less frequently used links and replace it with others. This customizability not only means that you can tailor it to your needs, but also that it can fit on almost any sized wrist.
Accessing one of the tools is as simple as taking off your bracelet, which is easy thanks to the secure clasp. The stainless steel construction means it won’t break on you when you need it most and at 5.5 ounces it doesn’t weigh much more than the average watch. The band of the new Tread LT is also 0.71 inches wide compared to the 1.2 inch band of the original, making for a more comfortable fit on smaller wrists. It comes in either silver or a stealthy black color because if you’re going to be wearing it on your wrist, it’d better look the part.
