For carrying a day’s worth of essentials, a compact backpack is one of the best ways to go. Proper straps provide all-day comfort, multiple compartments keep things tidy and accessible, and a smaller capacity maintains a low profile. Maxpedition brought all these qualities to the new AGR Riftpoint backpack, a smaller version of their best-selling Riftcore pack. And while it’s sized for day-to-day hauls, it’s equipped with features to handle bigger load outs for both casual and tactical applications alike.
The low-profile pack starts at a base 15L in capacity with minimal bulk. Its main compartment opens clamshell style for easy packing and features an internal gusseted sleeve for a small laptop or tablet. Opposite that are a loop panel for attaching internal pouches or organizers and a zippered top pocket for easy access. A smaller top zippered pocket on the exterior of the bag houses frequently used gear for quick access. On the front of the pocket you’ll find more loop paneling to attach even more pouches or morale patches as you see fit. A zippered front pocket features an admin panel and another zippered pocket for keeping gear organized. Last but not least, a side-entry pocket on the padded back panel of the pack securely stores valuables or your CCW.
As part of the Advanced Gear Research line, the Riftpoint features a tactically inspired design with future-forward styling and materials. A mix of abrasion-resistant 1000D plain weave ballistic nylon and 500D hex nylon ripstop make up the bag, with TPU and Teflon coating for water- and grime-resistance. Last but not least, laser-cut lattices along the front and sides of the pack serve as attachment points for modular pouches, giving you the freedom to carry more when the situation calls. This compact EDC bag comes in traditional tactical and military colors: black, grey, and tan to match the rest of your gear. Check it out at the link below.
