The Most Popular Gear from October
10. Bellroy Card Sleeve
We start off last month’s most popular gear with Bellroy’s minimalist Card Sleeve wallet. It features premium leather construction in a super slim package, perfect for front pocket EDC. The quick access slots on either side of the wallet make it easy to grab either of your most-used cards. The Card Sleeve’s pull tab allows you to get to the cards on the inside nearly as quick as those on the outside, while holding between 2-8 cards with ease.
9. The James Brand Folsom
While it may look pretty, the Folsom is no shelf queen. It’s designed to be the knife you use and abuse for your toughest tasks in a package compact enough to take everywhere. Its 2.75” blade might be on the smaller side, but it makes up for it with CTS-BD1 steel and sweeping drop point shape for more cutting edge to work with. Combined with its generous jimping on the spine of the blade and its slim but grippy handles, it’s well-suited for hard use or general EDC tasks.
8. Olight S1R II Baton
For last month’s 8th most popular item, Olight’s new and improved S1R II Baton joins the fray as the upgrade to their original S1R, a light made popular due to its convenient magnetic charging and intense output for a pocket flashlight. While it uses the same Cree XM-L2 LED as its predecessor and is also able to use a CR123A lithium primary, it now runs off of an included IMR 16340 rechargeable battery. The S1R II is also shorter, more compact, and even slightly lighter than the original. It sports a new, more aggressive knurling, as well as the new 2-way clip Olight have been rolling out with their newer lights. The side button now also comes with an LED indicator to let you know its battery level, and a new magnetic tail makes charging super convenient.
7. WESN Titanium Micro Blade
The WESN Titanium Micro Blade is an incredibly tiny EDC folding knife that looks built for real use. The excellent utility of the knife starts with its 1.5” AUS8 stainless steel blade. It has a modified drop point shape with a pronounced curve that increases the surface area of the knife and helps it deal with tasks easily, like a larger knife could. The AUS8 composition allows for an ideal mix of sharpness, edge retention, and ease of maintenance. Deployment is also easy thanks to two opening mechanisms: a thumbstud on the blade and a flipper tab on the spine. It’s one of the smallest, yet most hardworking additions you can make to your EDC, and also last month’s 7th most popular item.
6. RIDGE Wallet
Last month’s 6th most popular item is RIDGE’s minimalist aluminum wallet. It features a unique card track that fits up to 12 cards, and which lets you fan them out for easy access when you need them. It’s lightweight at only 2 ounces thanks to its aluminum construction. The aluminum plates are coated with durable ceramic into an attractive matte finish, and its natural RFID-blocking abilities help keep your card information safe as well. The external clip lets you carry cash if you need to, but it also works to attach it to your gear or to your clothes as well.
5. Fisher AG-7 Original Astronaut Pen
Usually, it’s Fisher’s more pocket-friendly Bullet Pen that gets the most love with EDCers, but the AG7 is the original. It’s a full-size clicky pen, made in the USA from solid brass that’s plated with chrome for added hardness. Of course, it’s loaded with Fisher’s pressurized ink cartridge, which lets you write at any angle, in wet conditions, and even in zero G. A pocket clip gives it easier retrievability than its Bullet Pen brother, and a ribbed grip section at the tip of the pen makes for a more comfortable jotting experience too.
4. Seiko SNZF17 Sea Urchin
Last month’s 4th slot holder is no stranger to dive watches. Between iconic models and silhouettes in their catalog and collectors’ propensity for creative nicknames for all of them, Seiko are all but synonymous with watches built for the deep. The SNZF17, also known as the “Sea Urchin,” takes design and performance cues from both its predecessors and its contemporaries in the Seiko 5 line. It’s an affordable 42mm, 100m-rated diver that features Seiko’s reliable 7S36 23-jewel automatic movement so you never have to worry about changing its battery. A unidirectional bezel features classic dive markings, while its face resembles more than a few of Seiko’s diving heritage with large, lumed markers and a day/date window at the 3 o’clock position. 3. Montblanc 5CC Card Holder
You might recognize Montblanc’s signature star emblem from their luxury pens in office or professional EDC photos, but the German company also makes other essentials with the same design language. The 5CC card holder is an example of their take on a classy front pocket wallet. It’s simple and refined in its design, with five slots for credit cards in its “woven carbon” leather build.
2. Gerber Pocket Square
Coming in at number two on the list is Gerber’s Pocket Square, a utilitarian knife with smart styling for urban EDC. Its 3” drop point blade sits flush with the handle when closed, giving it a low profile for discreet carry. When you do need to put it to work, it deploys via ambidextrous thumbstuds and locks up into the liner. Machined aluminum scales give it grip, durability, and some visual flair. Last but not least, a deep pocket clip lets it disappear into the pocket.

Last month’s most popular item isn’t a multi-tool you would expect in the average EDC. That said, it’s an absolute essential in the hands of people saving lives every day. The Leatherman Raptor is a pair of 420HC medical-grade stainless steel shears, with a few thoughtful (and often vital) features added to its frame. This includes a strap cutter, ring cutter, oxygen tank wrench, and carbide glass breaker tip all built in or folding out from the Raptor’s frame, ensuring that most emergency extractions are covered.
