Skullcandy Transparency Series

Founded amidst the mountains of Park City, Utah, with the intention of manufacturing headphones specifically for snowboarders and skateboards, Skullcandy is no stranger to our connection to the outdoors and our impact on the environment. They’ve put tremendous effort into reducing their carbon footprint through the years, recently partnering with groups like EcoChain and TerraPass with the end goal of bringing their carbon footprint to net-zero.

The newly-released Transparency Series is the first evidence of this initiative. Its name is deliberate: it’s designed to create visibility around environmental impact while progressing Skullcandy’s commitment to carbon reduction, and also introduce a striking new visual design for its headphones. And at the end of the day, provide you with excellent sound without breaking the bank or putting a dent in the environment.

Hesh Evo Wireless Headphones

The Transparency Series Hesh Evo Wireless Headphones feature a limited-edition “Transparency Blue” colorway and all the other good stuff we’ve come to love from Skullcandy’s headphone offerings: up to 36 hours of battery life, rapid charging, call, track, and volume controls, and built-in Tile Finding Technology, all over a Bluetooth 5.0 connection. It comes with a folding design for ease of carrying, charges conveniently with USB-C, and can even run off a wired AUX input for your existing devices.

But what sets the Transparency Series Hesh Evo Wireless Headphones apart from the rest is that it contains a carbon emissions equivalent of 12.14 kg neutralized via carbon offset credits, resulting in a net-zero carbon footprint. And of course, it comes in 100% recycled packaging to maximize its waste reduction.

Jib True 2 Wireless Earbuds

The Jib True 2 joins the Hesh Evo as the wireless earbud option in the Transparency Series. Skullcandy brought the Jib True 2’s battery life up to 33 hours without increasing its size, meaning more listening time without the added e-waste. Its IPX4 water resistance means it’s ready for your most strenuous workouts or even a surprise downpour. Like the Hesh Evos, the Transparency Series Jib True 2 Wireless Earbuds also boast a net-zero carbon footprint, containing a carbon emissions equivalent of 5.70 kg neutralized via carbon offset credits.

Every manufactured product impacts the environment, from the materials used to how they’re shipped and packaged. While it’s currently impossible to eliminate this impact, Skullcandy’s initiative to reduce its carbon footprint and its dedication to 100% transparency about its environmental impact is a step in the right direction. A portion of the Transparency Series’ proceeds funds the critical climate advocacy of Protect Our Winters. A strong commitment to change, sleek new limited-edition headphones–that sounds pretty good to us. Check out the Skullcandy Transparency Series at the links below.
