The Best Community EDC Gear: Pocket Dump from Sammo

About This Everyday Carry

Homesteader in Houston. Helpful little EDC for quick fixes. The only thing I need to add is a small measuring tape and I can handle 90% of the daily stuff.

I live on a large parcel of land (for inner city Houston). There are four large structures on it and two smaller sheds and lots of opportunities for things to require maintenance. I use the water wrench here and there but it is so convenient when I do need to tighten, loosen and even clamp or pinch stuff to keep things running. The knife is used for everything from cutting cording and boxes to whittling and slicing apples. I switched to a fixed blade from a folder recently as I started to really enjoy simple designs for tools with less chance for malfunction. I use the pry bar when I don’t want to risk my knife’s edge. Flashlight is for the dark. I keep cards, money, keys and bandaids (more for my kids’ imaginary boo boos than my own) in the wallet. Pliers, pry bar and flashlight fit in the wallet too. I carry a phone too, though I wish I could ditch it!

I recommend the switch from folder to fixed. I really love limiting the weakness of the instrument, even while giving up some size. The BFF total length is only a bit over 6”!
