It's a big EDC market out there, and tons of awesome gear is released all the time. We made The Drop to help you discover the latest and greatest essentials worth a spot in your EDC.

The search for durable, reasonably-priced timepieces that tick all the right boxes is a never-ending quest for many of us, but thanks to releases like the T-Rex by BOLDR and Nitecore, we’re shown that it’s possible. The T-Rex is available in limited quantities and looks as tough as its prehistoric namesake, featuring all the specs we look for in a reliable everyday watch.

It sports an all-black stealth theme for its case and bracelet, featuring a 40mm black PVD stainless steel case with a high contrast dial with C3 Glow lume for easy readability in all conditions. On the dial, you'll find two numeral designs to match each company’s logo and an embossed T-Rex design that adds character to the watch. Protecting the dial is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal lens equipped with multiple anti-reflective coatings, which you’d typically find on higher-end watches. Its 60-minute 120-click uni-directional steel bezel with an aluminum insert combined with its 200-meter water resistance rating and screw-down crown means the T-Rex is dive-ready.

Inside the T-Rex, you'll find the robust Japanese SII NH35A automatic movement, designed to withstand the rigors of everyday use while maintaining excellent timekeeping accuracy. Adding to its resilience, the T-Rex comes fitted with an integrated stainless steel bracelet with a quick-release design that makes swapping the bracelet out for another band a breeze.

Adding a unique touch to each limited edition release is an exhibition caseback adorned with exclusive artwork of a T-Rex’s footprint and a unique serial number. As a bonus, the T-Rex is paired with the Torch TINI 2 from Nitecore, a compact yet powerful rechargeable flashlight that we’ve featured several times that remains one of our favorite pocket torches, featuring a super compact design that packs both a unique LED display and up to 500 lumens of output.

What we like: The T-Rex has all the specs we’d want from a reliable, functional tool watch, all at a completely reasonable price point. The added bonus of a compact powerhouse of a flashlight and even exclusive glow-in-the-dark Ranger Eye patches make this an extremely compelling EDC set.

What to watch out for: Only 100 pairs are available for the first batch, so get your orders in quickly.

Final verdict: With the T-Rex and TINI 2 combo, you’ve instantly added two rugged, reliable, and stylish pieces to your EDC for both urban settings and outdoor escapades.
