The Drop: WE Knife Co. Cybernetic Titanium Knife

It’s a big EDC market out there, and tons of awesome gear is released all the time. We made The Drop to help you discover the latest and greatest essentials worth a spot in your EDC.

If you love to EDC the color black but find it hard to find an elegant blacked-out pocket knife because of all the aggressive tactical folders on the market, look no further than the WE Knife Co. Cybernetic. The Cybernetic features an attractive, slim, sleek design with clean lines and an immensely technical but minimalist look that makes it right at home in a cyberpunk’s EDC.

It starts with the slender 3.91″ long modified black stonewash finished tanto-point blade. WE bills it as a unique blade shape; you can see why with one look. The tip is upswept, with a slight curve, giving it a robust slicing belly and a fine tip for delicate work that a regular tanto can’t do. And because the blade is made out of quality CPM 20CV steel, you get high hardness, maximum sharpness, and edge retention out of the box. Additional grinds on both sides of the blade reinforce the angular aesthetic.

The blade’s clean lines transition smoothly into the handle design, and the all-black look accents well with the bronze-colored hardware. Both sides of the titanium handle have no additional embellishments, save for the geometric design lines (which also accent the milled titanium clip) and the frame lock. And rather than opting for an exposed rear flipper tab that would break up the design, a tiny tab is on the top of the handle instead for an action not unlike a front flipper.

What we like: When you see a blacked-out EDC knife, it tends to feature a tactical design with serrations and other defensive features that seem out of place from a regular everyday carry. The Cybernetic’s understated but futuristic design is a standout in the space.

What to watch out for: This is a knife designed mainly for righties, due to its fixed clip and framelock. That said, users can look forward to five styles, including a slick Damasteel blade variant.

Final verdict: When it’s only 2023 and you need a knife for 20XX, the Cybernetic is the pickup.
