Zodiac is a watch brand with a rich history of innovation and experimentation. Originally founded in Switzerland in 1882, it stands as one of the oldest vintage watch brands in the world. But throughout its over 100-year history in watchmaking, one model stands above the rest of the Zodiac stable in popularity: the Sea Wolf.
Unveiled in 1953, the same year as the Blancpain Fifthy Fathoms, and a full year before the Rolex Submariner ever saw the light of day, the Zodiac Sea Wolf spearheaded the availability of legitimate dive watches to the masses and was arguably the first dive watch to feature a rotating bezel.
As the modern iteration of the Sea Wolf, the Super Sea Wolf stays true to the original icon, with a larger, more robust 39mm stainless steel case, Super-LumiNova luminous paint on the markers and hands, and a Swiss-made Automatic STP 1-11 caliber movement, based on the tried and tested workhorse movement, the ETA 2824-2.
The limited-edition Huckberry x Zodiac Super Sea Wolf is the result of a collaboration between two brands that share a passion for exploration and discovery, both above and below the water. This exclusive release pays homage to the iconic original while adding a unique twist: a bronze unidirectional rotating bezel that evokes the look and feel of vintage diving helmets. Bronze is a material that ages beautifully, developing a patina over time that reflects the wearer's own experiences and adventures. No two watches will look exactly alike, making each one a personal and distinctive piece of art.
The watch also features water resistance of up to 200 meters, has a long-lasting 44-hour power reserve, and comes with two straps: one brown suede utility strap and one black caoutchouc rubber strap.
What we like: Despite being a dive watch, its aesthetic is refined enough to be dressed up for a night about town or down when it’s time to get to work.
What to watch out for: The Huckberry x Zodiac Super Sea Wolf dive watch is a limited edition run of only 182 watches, so hurry and grab yours before it’s too late.
Final verdict: The Huckberry x Zodiac Super Sea Wolf combines Swiss craftsmanship and vintage style with an iconic heritage and a touch of adventure.
