The James Brand are best known for their stylish and minimalist EDC catalog, which covers a comprehensive breadth from knives to pens and many things in between. But it’s one of their latest knives that caught a lot of attention in recent months. Rather than the usual straighter lines, the Redstone takes inspiration from rock climbing holds to create an “island” design for the handles, designed by professional rock-climber and photographer Savannah Cummins. And following a surge of strong collaborations, the Redstone is back with another partnership with our friends at Huckberry, offering the knife in an exclusive new colorway.
At just 1.8 oz the Redstone is a super lightweight everyday carry knife, but the small size does not mean small function. Its 2.5″ drop-point blade features a serrated portion for cutting through rough material, and its Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel composition allows for excellent hardness while maintaining ease of sharpening when you need it.
Blade deployment is easy with either hand thanks to the eyehole cut into the blade, and the handle features an ergonomic shape that makes for easy access to that opening mechanism in your hand. When push comes to shove the Slide-Lock mechanism prevents the blade from closing on you during use. The design on the handles allows you to rest at least one finger in between the islands at all times, offering a more comfortable, more secure grip. And when you’re done, the deep carry clip lets it disappear into your pockets, accented by a co-branded lanyard bead unique to this exclusive.
The Redstone keeps up James Brand’s penchant for sleek, solid designs while offering a unique flair in even more colors and collaborations to complement the rest of your carry. Check it out exclusively from Huckberry at the link below.
