Every day, readers like you proudly share photos of their everyday carry on the site.
Not only is looking through their pockets this way super interesting, but it’s also a great way to find really cool gear you never even knew existed (yet somehow, suddenly need…).
When you hover over an item you like and click on it in these photos, you’re also letting other EDCers know you find that gear interesting. Each click gets recorded to create a data-driven ranking of the most popular gear, which you can find in our Gear section of the site found in the top menu bar.
Gear with the most views and clicks climbs its way to the top of this feed and lets the EDC community know what’s trending right this second.
With June behind us, it looks like you were interested in classy pocket knives, unique pilot watches, practical keychain gear, and more…
10. Jack Wolfskin Camden Messenger
This casual messenger bag from Jack Wolskin starts off the list. It fits the bill for work, school, or commuter EDC thanks to its attractive urban styling and dedicated laptop and tablet compartments. Sized just right for a day’s worth of essentials at 16L, it also features plenty of admin organization to keep things in place and internal padding to protect it all. A briefcase handle, shoulder strap, and auto-closing buckle give you multiple carry options too.
9. Chums Key Quiver
Keys are one of the most cumbersome essentials to EDC, so any tool meant to make that easier is sure to pique an EDCer’s interest. Especially if it’s as useful, lightweight, and affordable as the Chums Key Quiver. It’s the familiar plate-and-pivot design, but built in a silicone sleeve with a keychain attachment at the other end. It also comes with a one-piece multi-tool, complete with screwdrivers, a bottle opener, ruler cues, and more.
8. Spyderco Vallotton Sub-Hilt G10
Spyderco’s known for making ultra-sharp knives, but the 3.7″ CPM-S30V blade on the Vallotton is special. It features a hollow ground primary bevel that switches to a flat grind for the tip, giving you the best of both worlds at different parts of the cut. Made in collaboration with custom knifemaker Butch Valloton, the knife features a full-size 5″ handle with durable G10 grips for maximum control. The signature Spyderco ambidextrous eyehole opening makes for easy operation, and a liner lock holds everything in place.
7. Leatherman Tread
At first glance, the Leatherman Tread’s bracelet design looks nothing like a standard multi-tool. But each individual link features a different function, all in a modular design that lets you tailor it to your own needs. You can choose from a large variety of hex wrenches, screwdrivers, bottle openers, and other essentials in making your own. And because there are no blades, it’s TSA-compliant and ready to go with you when you fly.
6. Redux COURG A-11
It’s no surprise to see Redux’s ambitious COURG series of watches catching the eyes of EDCers on the site. After all, its founder is an avid EDCer himself, and shows it through the utility-driven design on each of the watches. They’re interesting crossovers: half dive watch, half pilot watch, all encased in matte titanium. EDCers and watch enthusiasts alike can appreciate the rest of its features, including a sapphire crystal, luminous hands and markers, a Japanese automatic movement, and a versatile 39mm case size.
5. Citizen Eco-Drive Aviator CA4210-16E
This Citizen Eco-Drive watch features a highly-legible pilot design with convenient chronograph and date complications added into the mix. It has a reliable Japanese quartz movement, and since it’s powered by the sun, there’s little fuss involved to keep it ticking. The 45mm stainless steel case is sized for maximum legibility, and the mineral crystal dial helps protect against inadvertent scratches during daily use. It comes with a handsome brown calfskin leather band, but it’s also compatible with any suitable NATO or Zulu bands you may have on hand as well.
4. Moleskine Volant
You probably know Moleskine for their larger, hard-cover black notebooks. The Volant Extra Small is essentially a shrunken down, softcover version of it that’s even more pocket-friendly than your standard pocket notebook at only 4”x2.5”. It’s perfect for jotting down quick, short notes, then stashing away in a back pocket or a larger wallet. Its perforated pages let you detach pages to pass along while keeping the rest of your notes cleanly intact.
3. TOPS Fieldcraft Folder
The TOPS Fieldcraft takes one of the brand’s best fixed blade designs and adapts it into a more manageable folding knife. With its 4.38″ 1095 carbon steel drop-point blade, it can take on any big task you can throw at it. The thumbhole opening allows for ambidextrous operation, and a stainless steel liner holds the blade in place during use. Its tan canvas micarta handle is built to last, but you can also help protect the knife by carrying it in the beautiful leather belt holster that it comes with.
2. Olight i1R
The runner-up spot surprisingly goes to a flashlight that’s as low-profile as it gets in the Olight i1R. With a focus on simplicity and portability, this light makes for an excellent, no-frills keychain EDC. It operates as a twist switch with its Philips LUXEON TX LED and TIR lens delivering up to 130 lumens of smooth, even light. Even better, it manages to fit a micro-USB port for convenient recharging in its 0.42oz frame.
1. Kizer Feist
The sleek and minimalist Kizer Feist tops the list this time around. It’s easy to see why, with a tried and tested design designed by Justin Lundquist that looks as sharp as it can cut. It features a premium 2.83″ CPM-S35VN blade with a front flipper deployment that eliminates the conspicuous index tab, preserving the look of the knife. And its slim and clean titanium handle sports a strong frame lock to hold the blade open during hard use.
