Japanese design and materials come together for this Tanto Tuesday’s trending item in the form of the SOG Kiku Assisted folding knife. Based on a custom design by Kiku Matsuda, the Kiku features a 3.5″ blade made with Japanese VG10 steel in a traditional Japanese tanto blade shape.
The tanto shape comes to a strong point, ideal for puncturing and piercing tasks. Combined with the straight edge on the rest of the blade’s cutting area, the Kiku performs well in tactical, outdoor, and urban EDC applications. It deploys in a flash with SOG’s assisted opening and locks up with their button lock mechanism. For safety and convenience the button lock keeps the knife closed in your pocket and open when in use, all while keeping your fingers out of the blade’s path.
Last but not least, the Kiku’s handles are dressed in a textured and contoured linen micarta composite for better grip, durability, and lighter weight. Check out this tactical Japanese design in full detail at the link below.
